Young Single Adult Wards

What is up my family !!!   Ok get this. Young Single Adult wards are the best thing ever created - so much fun - and so much work.  Last Monday right when we walk into FHE two members come up to us and said they wanted us to teach their friends haha.  One of which is this guy named Aaron.  He has been going to church for like 2 months and we were able to have a lesson with him and talk about baptism.  He already knows the church is true and he wants to go to the temple, but he is struggling with when to be baptized.  He doesn't feel like he should do it now.  So after we talked to him we decided it would be best if he prayed and fasted about it.  So he did!  I have never had an investigator fast about stuff before lol so that was cool.  And we are going to be talking about it today after FHE when we meet with him.

What else. . . . Oh, so two people also randomly walked into church yesterday which was awesome.  And then a member brought a friend who is going to meet with us.  The only bummer is that in a couple weeks everyone goes home for the summer haha.  So we have to deal with that.  Oh well. the great thing is that the college students aren't afraid to talk to people and invite them.  They have the skill of not thinking to hard about it and just doing it.  It's fun for us to see how they just ask their friends, and if their friends say no they don't care because it is only awkward after that if one makes it awkward.

This place is amazing. and my companion is way awesome. We have been having a good time together, over all - great week.

Love you all and tell Brother Wardwell I love him and that he still is expected to play the piano at my wedding, so he better be there, and tell both grandmas they are awesome and I love them,

EUGENE - I'M BACK!!!

Monday - May 20th 2013
So I got transferred  which is a bummer. BUT I am going to be on the Oregon State University campus and be over the Young Single Adult ward which will be way tight! I am way pumped up for that.  So I pretty much have no area boundary and I get to work with people my age - every missionaries dream. I had gone on exchanges in this ward at the start of my mission and remember how fun it was. My companions name is Elder "M". He is way cool and really hard working. So I am excited to work with him. The cool thing about Corvallis' Young Single Adults is that they have their own Chinese speaking missionaries because there are a lot of Chinese people here. How sweet is that.

This past week was good.  We found out that Stefano is on probation for 2 years.  So he can't be baptized till that is over with. which is a bummer, but that means I can go.  We already have it all planned out on how I am going to come out here than and stay at his place the weekend of his baptism.

I don't have a lot of time left because its transfers but it will be a great week. LOVE YOU all, Elder Woestman

Mother's Day - May 12th 2013

Hi - this is Ben's mother.  Ben was able to "google-chat" with us and all his siblings and their families Sunday.  It was a great experience having all the kids on line and watching and listening to them interacting.  Ben looks great and is doing well and staying busy.  We are proud of him.  So - since we all talked - there is no letter for this week.  Check back next week for more of "Life With Elder Woestman".  Have a great week.

So this week was way good.  Started out on Monday by going to Stfanos house and playing on his drums.  It was pretty sweet.  And then we had a way good lesson on the "Restoration".  Later in the week we brought our young men's president with us to see Stfano because Stfano wants to help in the Young Mens Program because he was in the military for so long.  That lesson went way good because both Stfano and the young men's president are both in the special forces so they were talking about stuff . . . and Elder "M" and I had no idea what was going down hahaha.

Oh - and then on Tuesday the lesson we had with Adam (the alcoholic guy) went way good.  He is reading the Book of Mormon every night and also the Bible - at least two chapters a day.  How sweet is that.  We almost fell out of our seats when he told us that. It's hard to get people to do that, and so when they do it on their own and they are craving it and just want more and more we get pumped up.  He also watched the "Restoration" video and knows its true.  So now we just need him to not work on Sunday - haha.

We had a missionary leadership council this week in Eugene and it went really well.  We were able to talk about what the mission needs, and it was fun because Elder "M" and I were asked to teach about unity and so we did a little activity before we taught it.  The activity was when people seat on a chair and then lean on the guys legs behind them, and you make them do it in a circle and then take all the chairs out from under them and they all stay up .  It was fun and helped them understand how they need to work together.

Oh - miracle that I almost forgot to say.  So Mike and Andra are two investigators with a baptismal date for this Wednesday.  We took them to watch a baptism. A lot of things happened.  One was that at first they didn't want to go because Andra blew out her knee so she didn't want to walk.  We assured her she could seat the whole time - lol and so they came.  But we were running 20 min late because we ran into some unexpected delays.   I was praying the whole time that for some reason the baptism would start late. We get there and we walk in 20 min late and they just started the opening hymn. MIRACLE lol.   The sad thing is that there weren't a lot of people at the baptism, so to help the other missionaries out my companion and I sneaked out the back (and luckily their was mutual there that night) so we grabbed a bunch of youth and they were totally down to come and support.  So the lady getting baptized had people there for her, but it was a bummer that no one came from her ward.  So make sure you all go to the baptisms in your wards. No one likes an empty baptism service. plus it's good for the kids.

So this week went really good and that is way cool about all the young men going on missions in my home ward.  Tell them to email me.  Oh yeah - I am allowed to email anyone now so you should put my email on the blog and tell people they can email me, and tell the priest to email me.

Love you all.
